The Commish Report – November 24, 2014

commish-header2Greetings all you Turkeys, er um, I mean League Members.  Hard to believe we are in the week of Thanksgiving, but what a great time of year it is as there is always much to be thankful for — least of which is thankful for family and friends to share time with.  So, I’m sure you all are saving belly space for turkey, ham and all the fixings, along with a few refreshments.  But don’t overindulge on Thursday, there are football games and basketball games to watch throughout the weekend, providing ample time to graze ( I just gained 5 lbs writing this….another 5 lbs after this weekend — Uugh Charlie Brown)!

Speaking of games, it was nice to see Billy Cundiff make the game winning FG from 37 yards this past Sunday.  Not so fortunate was the Notre Dame kicker who missed a game-tying FG, or the Cyclones, Hawkeyes, and Huskers, all coming up short.  But the stage has been set for the Thanksgiving showdown in Iowa City this Friday as the Hawkeyes and Huskers will knock heads for the I-80 Championship.  I’ll actually be in attendance doing some college scouting, I mean watching the game, so I hope it’s not too cold….but then again, I’ll be in a Suite, which will be Sweet!!

Well, results for Game 13:

Home team New Orleans Saints — 27
Visiting team Baltimore Ravens — 34

Winning book # 46
Group 1 winner — Debbie Davis ( I won’t tell your husband you won — you keep this money to yourself)
Group 2 winner — Johnny Klein ( Still going strong at 100+ years old — WOW, gotta love that )

So, 5 games remaining including the Superbowl….congrats to this week’s winners and everyone else, stay positive.  DO take time this week to enjoy your family and friends and travel safe.  Remember to count your blessings — Happy Thanksgiving to all !!
