The Commish Report – Super Bowl edition

commish-header2Well, Superbowl 49 is now in the history books and not without some fireworks and fanfare at the end of the game.  After an uneventful 1st quarter, I thought the rest of the game was just what you’d want in a Superbowl — not a lopsided score, always within reach, and either team could come out with the victory.  All in all, I thought it was a great game, even the last play — questionable play call to pass instead of run, but heck of a defensive play by the rookie Patriot cornerback!!

As for the commercials, they were so-so in my opinion; I was hoping for a little more comedy.  You gotta love the Budweiser Clydesdale horses and the puppy and I also liked the Doritos ads — overall, they still keep most people in suspense!

The halftime entertainment was good, I thought.  No wardrobe malfunctions and the fireworks show was impressive, and how about those dancing sharks?

OK, enough about all that, here are the results for Superbowl 49:

Home team Seattle Seahawks –24
Visiting team New England Patriots — 28

Winning book #18
Group 1 winner – Mike Bierl (Thank you Mike and all men and women in uniform for your service to our country)
Group 2 winner – Jeff Schmitz ( How did you get the nickname “Speffy”, and what’s it mean?)

Well, congrats to these two $100 winners and to all winners this year.  We had a great league, once again, and the commissioner’s office wants to thank everyone for their participation and for being good sports.  Hope everyone enjoyed the season, and that you didn’t gain too many pounds during the Superbowl.

Be safe on the streets and roads and until next time, have a wonderful 2015!!
