Why Am I a Knight?
By Ed Pancrazio
I joined the order when asked by my Uncle Fred. He was my best friend and mentor, always an active member. My Dad was also a member when he passed away several years ago. At that time I did not realize the significance of his membership. Including my Dad, my family is a four generation KC family. Both of my sons-in-law and my grandson are members.
At the time I joined, we had a KC Hall. I was active in the social aspect of the hall. I was also involved in the management and helping with events to raise funds for charity and our parish. We have since sold the building and moved to the church for meetings and socials.
This was a great move for my council. We shifted our focus from the hall to the parish. There are programs available from Supreme that touch the very lives we strive to serve. It is up to each of us to take advantage of the programs and incorporate them into our parishes. With the Supreme Knight’s emphasis on building the Domestic Church, my council is in a position to lead. Recruiting new members, young and old, continues to be an important aspect of our growth.
I have been blessed working as the Administrative Assistant to build a network of friends throughout the state. I enjoy working with and helping everyone with the daily business of the Knights of Columbus.
However, my first and foremost priority is my family. Sheryl and I have been blessed with two lovely daughters and five beautiful grandchildren. Watching them in sports, growing in their faith and becoming young adults is my slice of heaven on earth.
